“The Italians pro military aviation” 1918

Badge “The Italians pro military aviation” 1918.

Silver sheet badge probably made towards the end of the First World War, for those who contributed to the fundraising for our military aviation, actively engaged in the conflict.
The proceeds of the fundraising were to allow for a greater investment by the Ministry of War to be used to manufacture new aircraft for our pilots, whose deeds struck the popular imagination that made it the modern vision of the ancient chivalrous heroes.
The pin measures about 40 x 32 mm and on the back is equipped with a long vertical pin.
The iconography of the badge shows biblani, airships and different glimpses of Italian cities: stylized are recognizable, for example the famous lantern of Genoa, the Vesufio of Naples and the Cathedral of Milan.
